By downloading or using Orien ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use.

1. The app

Orien is a free iOS application that enables hands-free interaction using ARKit face tracking. It is intended as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) aid for people with limited mobility, including those with ALS, locked-in syndrome, cerebral palsy, and similar conditions.

2. Not a medical device

Orien is a communication aid, not a medical device, emergency response system, or substitute for professional care.

• Orien does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or prevent any medical condition.
• Orien does not contact emergency services. For medical emergencies, call 911 or use your iPhone's built-in Emergency SOS.
• Orien does not replace professional speech-language pathology, medical, or therapeutic care.

You should consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.

3. Hardware and software requirements

Orien requires an iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later that supports ARKit face tracking. Orien checks support at launch and shows an explanation on an unsupported device.

4. Free of charge

Orien is free to use. Future versions may offer optional paid features (for example, cloud sync). Optional paid features will be clearly labeled and will never restrict access to the core communication features.

5. Your use of the app

You agree to use Orien only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where permitted by law.
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
• Misrepresent the app as a medical or emergency service.

6. Intellectual property

Orien, the Orien logo, and all associated branding are owned by Midwest Creation Studio LLC. Apple's frameworks remain the property of Apple Inc.

7. Disclaimer of warranty

Orien is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate at all times.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Midwest Creation Studio LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Privacy

Use of Orien is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of Orien after changes constitutes acceptance.
